Major Russian Strikes Eliminate Power Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while local people in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and faced interruptions to water systems, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has requested "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and applying penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles targeted energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A series of attacks hit energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the city experienced heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The attacks follow nights of air raids in the region, sections of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
